We roast every weekday, except for national holidays, with most orders shipping within 2 business days. Orders within the Continental US typically arrive 2-5 days after shipping.
We don’t expedite orders because fresh roasted coffee needs the shipping time to rest, degas, and develop its full flavor.

OUR COFFEE
There are a lot of claims in coffee marketing, so let’s clear things up. All reputable specialty coffee, including ours, is vegan, lactose-free, non-GMO, and free of mycotoxins.
Throughout the specialty coffee supply chain, green coffee is rigorously tested for mycotoxins and other contaminants, and this has been standard practice for decades. Mold (a Category 1 defect) would disqualify a coffee from being specialty grade.
At Heyday, we review mycotoxin tests before purchasing coffee lots and regularly perform spot tests on individual bags before roasting.
Our coffee is not formally kosher certified, but all our unflavored coffees contain no additives and nothing except coffee is processed on or near our roasting lines.
Our flavored coffees use natural flavorings certified by the OU.
Actually it's not a hole, but a one-way valve that allows gases to escape while keeping oxygen, moisture, and light out. The valve helps maintain freshness during shipment and storage.
Swiss Water decaffeination uses only water and natural pressure to remove caffeine from coffee, without any chemicals.
In contrast, many other methods use solvents like methyl chloride or ethyl acetate. With the Swiss Water process, you get decaf coffee that’s pure and chemical-free.
Peaberry coffee is a rare, natural mutation where only one bean develops inside the coffee cherry, instead of the usual two. This results in a smaller, denser, oval-shaped bean that must be hand-sorted. Peaberries make up about 5% of coffee beans and are often prized for their sweetness and rich flavor. Peaberry coffees are particularly associated with Tanzanian coffee.

LEARN
Specialty Grade Coffee is the highest quality coffee, scoring 80 or above on the Specialty Coffee Association scale. Our coffee always meets this standard, typically scoring between 82 and 86 points. Only 3-5% of the world’s coffee production meets our quality standards.
It’s grown in ideal climates, carefully processed, and evaluated for flavor, aroma, and consistency, delivering a superior coffee experience with complex flavors and minimal defects.
Single-origin coffee comes from one specific source, such as a farm or region, highlighting the unique flavors of that location. Factors like weather and soil create distinct flavors that vary year to year. This makes single-origin coffee special, as you’re tasting a specific time and place.
Blended coffee, on the other hand, combines multiple single-origin coffees to achieve a consistent flavor profile. We create blends to ensure the coffee tastes the same from batch to batch, adjusting the components as needed.
Blends are ideal for those who prefer consistency, while single-origin coffees offer unique, evolving flavors.
Here are a few simple and inexpensive ways to make a big difference:
1. Use good, clean water – Filtered water is best (not distilled) since minerals enhance the flavor. Coffee is 98% water, so starting with quality water can instantly improve your brew.
2. Store your coffee properly – Use an airtight canister and store in a cool, dry place to keep your coffee fresher for longer.
3. Use a scale for consistency – Even with an auto-drip machine, using a scale helps you optimize your coffee-to-water ratio.
4. Use a burr grinder – Whole beans stay fresher longer, and grinding them just before brewing ensures maximum flavor and control.
While coffee is shelf-stable and safe to drink even after months, its flavor will fade over time. For the best taste, enjoy your coffee within 30 days of roasting.
Remember that a factory-sealed bag preserves freshness longer than an open one, and whole beans stay fresher than ground coffee due to less exposure to oxygen.
To keep your coffee fresh, avoid heat, moisture, light, and air—the four coffee killers.
For best results, store your coffee in an air-tight, opaque container in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
Avoid the freezer or refrigerator, as freezing can damage the beans’ structure and the fridge’s odors can contaminate the coffee.
